The revealed growth rings designate a cross-grain orientation and the dark finish downplays the ebonite ferrule and bent, tapered stem. In excellent condition with a wide and slightly conical chamber, this Italian jaw hanger even has a well drilled draft capable of passing a cleaner into the bowl from the button, though it helps to start with a curve in the cleaner.
