Details
Nate failed to tell us why this gorgeous block of briar needed two stems, but he made both, and they are military mounts. One is made of traditional ebonite brindle with a small crown, the other, black with just a simple taper. Most striking is the finish of the pipe. Pale and natural with a few tones of rose in the yellow golden patina. A close second might be the once every few thousand blocks grain of straight oriented and dense striations that only show up very rarely. Reinforced with a brass ring around the mortise, this heirloom piece is a masterful union of nature and artist, representing the very finest in smoking implements.
