Although Nate King is capable of making both traditional and cutting edge shapes in all manner of disciplines and styles - the smaller scaled stuff has always been particularly fascinating for me. This pipe is an excellent example of a lightweight piece that gets every bit of attention in its almost predatory lines, that a larger pipe might receive. The sandblast is beyond just distinctive, it is revealing of the painstaking years of growth the briar achieved to produce this incredibly and naturally contrasting finish over every striking portion of stummel. The brass band to reinforce the mortise and the angle of the tapered stem produce a sitter that is just plain rock star cool from any angle.
