Details
At first glance this high-contrast sandblast "Scottie" looks like many of the other gorgeous clay briars made famous by Our Lady of Briar, Scottie Piersel, from Kansas City. Take a closer look and note that the shank has been offset from the bilateral axis (particularly noticeable in the top-down view). Not a mistake or a misstep, Scottie purposely set the shank to one side of the bowl and the unique treatment adds a wonderful correction to those who clench and can now see a straighter bowl in the periphery. Well constructed and destined to be another magnificent smoker, this green brindle stemmed pot still boasts the thick walls and epically sublime draw the "Scottie" pipes are so popular among collectors for, only this one is just a little more comfortable in the eyes of the smoker.
