This asymmetrical offering from Charl is a testament to his years as carver and pipe lover, both. There is a very small speck of flaw in the grain on the driver's side just below the rim, and many other artisans would have simply sandblasted the entire pipe. But Charl was to attached to the beauty in the wood, flaw and all, to let that happen, and we couldn't agree more. Note the little flare on the adornment of the tear drop shank's cap. Even the shank has a bit of swoop, capturing all the gorgeousness the grain had to give. This is a pipe that speaks to us all, flaws included.
