Finished smooth in high contrast with acres of cooperating grain, this signature shape from Bob Keiss hits all the sweet spots for aficionados of the hawkbill shape. Note the perfect and perpendicular arrangement of the rim's plane and the shank's facing. Additionally the stem, while definitely tapered, protrudes straight off the shank.
