Details
We don't know who replaced the stem with the acrylic, but we do know this one wasn't the original from the English factory. It may have been done at any retailer or repair shop, but a brass rhondelle logo was never affixed. The stummel of this GBD Granitan pot sitter is still in excellent condition with clear delineations of growth rings in the trademark blasted and polished finish. The exact date of its creation isn't known but it is definitely prior to the 1980s, likely in the late 60s or early 70s. Wide in the well drilled chamber to keep a broad leaf blend or large ember going, this sturdy sitter still has generations to impress.
