Details
This Comoy's Selected Straight Grain estate pipe has proven to be a bit of head scratcher. Given the stampings and especially the shape number, we are fairly certain that this bent and oval shank apple has some age. However, the lack of a three-piece C logo in the stem, which is inarguably original to the pipe, puts the date of manufacture in the modern, post-Cadogan era. The shape and execution back up this latter hypothesis, though we recognize that this is only conjecture. Still the pipe does display some nice straight grain even though there are a few small fills in the finish. There is also some minor inner rim darkening but otherwise, this English conundrum of briar is in outstanding condition.
