Doug Finlay Pipe Sandblast Shield with Military Mount

With a curved elephant's foot bowl and two symmetrical panels on each side, this shield from American carver, Doug Finlay, isn't an easy shape to pull off.  Add to that the cooperation from the briar's grain and the meticulous sandblast finish; this pipe is already spectacular.  Using an ebonite crown ferrule for balance and a brilliantly made long stem with military mount for function, this is a tour de force for any pipe maker.  What really sends us over the edge is the terrific draw - smooth and just right for the deep chamber.  Not a surprise for Doug's repertoire, where every pipe is destined to be a great smoker.
