Details
The first time we ever saw fordite incorporated into a pipe was a Bill Shalosky, and while many other great carvers have turned the versatile material into fantastic adornments, Bill still finds a way to improve its use. This magnificent straight and round shanked rhodesian has an insert with each striation perfectly circumnavigating the stem in precise parallel lines, with the dominant bands serving as well balanced spacers. The effect giving the eye not just a stimulating trip across the clean and muscular lines, but adding a bit of perceived length that is masterfully executed. Blonde and tan, this cross grain sandblast finish is a fitting exclamation of the perfect smoker this pale briar was made to be.
