Bill Shalosky presents this gorgeously sandblasted and curved blowfish in a dynamic shape that underlines both the subtle and extreme. The copper toned and rusty color of the dark stummel make the smooth and light rim pop, while the stylized whiptail and concave curve of the bottom panel give the large bowl an exaggerated swell to the already full proportions. But this isn't a two dimensional pipe so the addition of a curved stem and an asymmetric disposition only kick the composition up to a whole other level. A sculpted crown saddle serves to give just the right accent for both the curve and the balance from stummel to stem for an incomparably executed smoking creation that is both familiar and new. And as impressive as all the skills needed to pull off this American handmade might be, they pale in comparison to how this beauty is going to smoke.
