Nate King Pipe 388 Brown Blast Apple with Bamboo and Bakelite

Details
Don't let the pencil thin, bamboo shank fool you - this is a deceptively sturdy pipe. Nate's use of clean and polished bamboo is an inspired choice for this interpretation of the classic shape. The bottom of the bowl dips just beneath the shank line giving the impression of ripe, or swollen proportions which work with the wavy lines of bamboo from the swell of the knuckles. Maybe most impressive is the stem is attached about 3/8 of an inch from the bamboo in a seamless and continuous taper of ebonite. Like all of Nate's work, the details here are many and flawless in their execution.
