Details
American pipe maker, Joseph Skoda, is already heralded as a prolific producer of trademarked shapes that only he can produce and this standing freehand is certainly no exception. The details are almost endless with acrylic inserts, a pedestal of ebonite, and a masur birch ring encircling the offset saddle stem. Not the the brass ring and acrylic extruding from the plateau at the end of the shank are permanent and not part of the stem which fits neatly into the extension that serves as a mortise. The clever design ensures a flush fit with less chance of tension that can ultimately cause the tenon to crack. Finished smooth in a natural contrast of straight grain, this gorgeous handmade will be sure to be just as lovely a smoker as it is a pleasure to look at.
