A triumph of large scale design, this Joe Hinkle magnum billiard features a high contrast finish over a spectacular blast of rings and straight grain.  To set the pipe apart, aside from its magnificent size, Joe has flush fit the silver to both the shank and stem resulting in clean lines from button to bowl.  Deceptive in its simplicity, what really distinguishes this from other artisanal work is the brilliant bevel on the rim, the superbly finished shank face, a beautiful polished integral ebonite tenon, a perfectly shaped and deep slot in the stem with an almost sensual draw, and a button facing that is nothing short of spectacular.  What does that all mean - this pipe is going to be an extraordinary smoker.
