Charl Goussard Pipe Contrast Blast Apple with Bamboo

Sandblasted with a cross-grain across the bowl, this bamboo shanked apple from South African pipemaker, Charl Goussard has a contrast finish with both tones of dark chocolate and light honey.  The two knuckles of bamboo provide for a lengthy shank and the sculpted saddle in the stem balances the smooth rimmed and wide chambered bowl.  The clean bamboo, along with the smooth rounded rim, work well against the dynamic contrast for a natural composition dripping with rugged elegance.
