The first thing that caught my eye when picking up this tight, ring blast, tan finished apple from Chuck, was the little protrusion on the bottom of the stummel directly underneath the transition. For new smokers who aren't familiar, this brilliant little design feature makes the pipe extremely easy to hold between the thumb and forefinger, around the shank, against the bowl. Just a little extra wood in the right spot, and this beauty perches just right in your fingers. Of course, the rings and straight grain, in a stummel with significant thickness, perfect for a virginia flake doesn't hurt either.
