Stanwell's DM stamping indicates pipes that were made specifically for the Danish Pipe Smoking Championships in Denmark. They represent some of the finest finishes done in distinct sandblasts and are typically very dark with some deep reds peeking out. This canadian estate pipe was made for the contest in 1982 and although it has survived in outstanding condition, there was some charring in the chamber so a sodium silicate coating has been added to ensure there aren't any more issues in the future.
